Karen Mitchell is the Clinic Director

Karen graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1996 from Oakland University. She has worked for 16 years in outpatient orthopedic clinical settings dealing with multiple conditions ranging from sports related injuries to spinal injuries. Karen has taken additional coursework throughout the years to include various manual techniques such as myofascial techniques; muscle energy for SI joint dysfunction; joint mobilization and trigger point release. Sports medicine is one of many areas of interest Karen has included in her background. She additionally is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Instructor and enjoys applying her training and medical knowledge to help patients return to exercise without fear of injury.

 
   

Zanobia Rababeh is the Assistant Clinic Director

Zanobia Shoucair Rababeh attended Wayne State University to receive a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences, with a Major in Physical Therapy and a Minor in Psychology. Zanobia continued at Wayne State University to receive her Master in Physical Therapy in the May of 2002. In the summer of 2002, Zanobia began her specialized training and career as a licensed physical therapist at one of the nation's largest hospitals specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, DMC's Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. In the course of seven years at RIM, Zanobia attained the role of a Physical Therapy Clinical Specialist providing innovative, evidence based, cutting edge treatment techniques to patients with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease, musculoskeletal disorders, joint replacements, arthritis, low back problems, amputations, geriatric conditions, work-related injuries, and sports injuries. Zanobia has practiced under the various service lines in both inpatient and outpatient setting, giving her an edge in leading optimum progression throughout the continuum of care.

In her 10 years of experience, Zanobia has been an assistant PT instructor for PT courses at WSU, served as a Clinical Instructor for several PT students, provided educational in-services to various senior communities and centers, and participated as a guest speaker in public television dialogues for reducing fall risk in the elderly. In addition, Zanobia is fluent and literate in the Arabic language, enabling her to offer Arabic speaking patients the ability to fully understand the rehabilitation process.

Finally, Zanobia is approaching the completion of her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University in the Summer of 2012.

Zanobia's passion in physical therapy and wellness is evident in her home life as well. At home, with her husband Yasseen and 2 children, Zanobia enjoys an active and healthy lifestyle with exercise and cooking with natural foods. After completing her goal of running the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon in 2009, Zanobia hopes to run the Full Marathon in the near future.

 
   

Paul Bar is the Staff PT

Paul received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University. He has been practicing as a licensed PT since 2005, and has several years experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting. His clinical experience also includes vestibular/balance rehabilitation, return to work programs, treatment of neurological disorders, TMJ dysfunction, orthotic fabrication, post-surgical rehabilitation and chronic pain. Paul has current clinical experience in the acute care setting which enhances his knowledge of the rehabilitation process to optimize patient outcomes. He has also attended many continuing education courses for a variety of orthopedic subjects and clinical modality use as well as vestibular evaluation and treatment.

Paul currently lives in Canton, where he is married to his beautiful wife Brandy and has a daughter named Addison. He also has a Siberian husky named Bailey. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, following college and professional sports, as well as spending time with his family and friends. Waterworks Physical Therapy looks forward to Paul’s contributions and quality care for our patients.

 
   

Jackie Cummins is the Physical Therapist Assistant

Jackie graduated in 1997 from Henry Ford Community College with a Physical Therapist Assistant Degree. She has been working in an outpatient orthopedic setting for the last 15 years and has also worked with Physical Therapy Home Care which gives her a great understanding for patients who are post-surgical. Jackie has treated patients with multiple conditions of the extremities and spine; she enjoys working with patients to help them restore optimum function and wellbeing. Jackie is a PTA who will go the extra mile to ensure excellent treatment and help patients meet their goals for wellness.

In her spare time Jackie enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, scrapbooking, traveling and walking her 2 dogs.

Jessica Coleman is your Patient Advocate for Waterworks; if you have any patient questions or need assistance with your appointments or insurance she will be more than happy to help you. Jessica has been part of the team since we opened and is our Administrative Manager as well.
